Meet: 1st Thursday each month 7pm - 10pm

Cost:  Annual membership upon application

More Information: We are a predominantly urban group of beekeepers numbering over 100 Registered, Partner and Country members. The group was started in 1919 as a mutual support for those keeping bees and this is what we continue to be. The Association is affiliated to Hampshire Beekeepers Association (HBA) and the British Beekeepers Association (BBKA).

During the spring and summer, we have hands-on beekeeping meetings at different apiaries: and we hold indoor meetings in autumn and winter on the first
Friday of the month in Catisfield Memorial Hall. We invite expert guest speakers on bee related topics to our indoor meetings.

We hold a beginner’s class at Titchfield community centre during the winter. To ensure a good transition from theory to practice we run a training and
educational apiary at Manor Farm, Bursledon where we support the Annual Bees and Honey weekend at Manor Farm. We provide many demonstrations and
educational experiences of practical beekeeping. It has always been a fantastic weekend for us and the visitors of all ages who attend.

We openly welcome and encourage newcomers to join us. We have launched a Mentorship Programme for those who would like the support of one of our experienced beekeepers in their first years of beekeeping. Contact details for education and other information can be found on our website, or just come along to a meeting and introduce yourself.
